Damien braced himself as he was thrown through the concrete walls of the bank. It was disgraceful, he thought. A warrior of his status being beaten down, by some freak in a mask no less. He collapsed to the ground too much pain to move. He would have to leave the city now. He hated attracting attention. He opened his eye. Whatever the thing was it was strong. And it was still there.
How had his day started? Walking down the streets, buying lunch, then suddenly, out of nowhere, attacked by some kind of super soldier. Or was it an android? He couldn't tell. It was wearing thick military style clothes and a mask. It also seemed to be invincible. Either way it had gotten lucky with a sucker punch, it wasn't going to get another chance. Damien felt his blood beginning to heat up as he healed, and he smiled.
Taking a deep breath Damien leaped up. Whatever it was that had attacked him was just standing there, bad move. Most of the crowd had scattered by now, they were probably pretty used to this type of thing. Fists charged with energy from Asgard, Damien leaped forward, intent on pummeling this creature to bits.

She leaned forward, her right foot planted on the edge of the building. The young woman slid an arrow from her holder and steadied her right arm as she took aim at the obvious enemy. She let her arrow fly, her accuracy dead on as she watched the arrow explode on impact as it struck the what she could only assume was an android in the chest. She readied another arrow seemingly in no real hurry to join in the physical fight no, that was all for the Asgard down there.
She didn't bother remembering the boy's name as now wasn't the time to worry about it anyway. Nightshade rose a little higher on her right foot, giving her a better angle and a little bit more power behind her bow, as she drew back the string, her left eye closing as she lined up her shot intent on firing off another few arrows.
Koda found herself waiting, her eyes briefly drifting the Damien. Her mind sparked as she remembered his name, he was Damien Creed. She found her glowing purple eyes intimdated people whether they be good or bad and it pissed them off when they found a girl that wasn't so easily beaten by them. 'Do something Mr. Superhero, I'm trying to follow your lead' she thought to herself as she waited eyes dancing back to their common enemy. Her hair pulled back in a pony tail and her costume announcing that Nightshade was on the scene, a name most people knew so hopeful it would put some people at ease. They need to hurry this up or someone could wind up getting hurt.

Damien's senses were keen enough to detect the presence of someone else, standing at the rooftops. His eyes made out a figure, female. He wasn't sure if he recognized her, his memory had been a bit fuzzy since he had arrived on earth, but she did seem quite familiar. Then there was a movement, a blur as the arrow sped its way to the android. Perfect hit. An explosion. That was an opportunity that couldn't be missed. Before the smoke had cleared he had already begun his attack. In a blink he crossed the distance between him and the attacker, another blink and he drove his fist forward. His stance instinctive, and his fists charged with the magic of the Odinforce. This was a punch with enough force to collapse a small building. The android went flying....about three feet. It seemed slightly annoyed as it picked itself up again.
Without thinking Damien followed up the punch with one aimed at the creatures head. It was a quick blow, nothing human could dodge it, which is why Damien shouldn't have been surprised that the creature did. It even managed to throw a punch of its own. Damien slid his head in and gave it a cross counter, that sent it stumbling back, but it moved forward again, almost impervious to the damage.
Damien had been enough fights to know that he couldn't take this thing down with force. Not unless they wanted to fight until they leveled the city. He'd have to immobilize the thing then. Weaving through the creatures attacks he grabbed the thing by its waist and pulled it to the ground. Using a little magic he adjusted gravity to assist him with the take down. That done he quickly put the thing in an armbar. There, now he could focus on the decidedly easy task of breaking apart the things arm. He pulled with all his might. he was rewarded with a slight creak as some of the robots mechanisms bent out of shape, but his victory was slightly marred by the fact he was soon flung off by the creature. It seemed stronger than he expected.
It seemed that the thing aimed well as he was being hurtled towards the rooftop of the girl who was trying to help him. He hit a chimney on his way. That helped slow him down slightly. In the end he managed to land on the roof with nothing more than a few injuries that would have killed a mortal. Resisting the urge to moan in pain he picked himself up. Peering over the edge he watched as the android began running towards them. Its arm was obviously damaged and seemed locked at the elbow. Apart from that it seemed fine.
Damien turned to the girl who had assisted him earlier. She's quite hot. He thought. But she looked familiar. "Well this is quite troubling," he said brushing himself off. His body was sore, but not the worst he'd been in. However he had the feeling that the thing that had attacked him had yet to get serious. "You probably get this a lot," Said Damien to the girl, ignoring the killbot that was somewhere just below them. "But do I know you?"

Nightshade drew in a breath before exhaling it in a rush of frustration. She watched from her vantage point as the boy once more starting fighting, but he also got in her line of sight. He wasn't accustomed to fighting with a partner was what she was quick to realize. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes despite how much she wanted too. She felt her mind wonder to her own team....and she frowned realizing with the twisting feeling in her gut things were going to change, she knew that and it made her angry.
She reached her index finger out to wrap around the bow she let sag as she released the pressure on the string, their was no reason for her to get involved anymore yet. Her eyes widened as she saw the android throw the young man up into the air, and it took her several moments to realize he was coming at her. She rolled to the side and back farther away from the edge of the building. She ducked low as he came over her head and smashed into the chimney. Her body reacted she was already on her feet, low into a crouch, so she wasn't caught off guard, her arrow pulled tight ready to fly as she raised it at him. Her purple eyes didn't faultier from him as she watched him pull himself from the rubble and act as though nothing happened.
"What are you?" she demanded, remembering to breath and keep a level head if she lost her temper that could be bad. "Forget it another time" she said quickly, moving back over to the side of the building to look down at the Android that was climbing up to get them. She didn't hesitate just let the string go as it flew straight down the android giving her a great target; his face.
Koda found her eyes turned back to him as he asked her if he knew her. She licked her lips and shook her head waiting a few moments before answering. "No I don't believe we've met before. I'm Nightshade and you are?" she questioned her eyes running over him unabashed from head to toe, then right back up again to his eyes. She noticed he was taller then her, far more muscular then some of the other superhero's she'd run into. Her mind flashed briefly back to a couple of days ago at a bar where Lacey worked, that was why he'd looked so familiar but she hoped he wouldn't connect the dots that she was in fact Elizabeth from a couple of nights ago. So technically that was a lie she did in fact know him, but he might not remember her, if she remembered correctly he had been drinking a bit.
Her attention was drawn back to the present they had much more urgent matters then the fact if they knew each other. She pulled another arrow from her quiver and drew back her bow, this bow might just be what they needed, it was supposed to freeze on contact but this might be just what they needed if she could freeze on of his hands maybe he'd fall from this height and shatter. "So the android seems to be pretty indestructible huh? Think he can survive a fifty-two story fall?" she questioned her lips pulling back in an easy smile.

Damien studied the girl more closely. The longer he looked at her the more certain he was that he knew her. Or perhaps that was just wishful thinking. But in any case she was obviously a competent warrior, and a fairly experienced fighter.
"I'm Damien," he said. Nightshade, he thought. Cool name. The android had apparently decided the fastest route to them was to simply climb the outside of the building. That was the least reassuring thing he'd seen all day.
"I'd like to think that anyone who falls 52 stories would die on the spot," he said. "But in his case I wouldn't count on it."
He glanced at her bow.
"If you're thinking of using that to knock him off balance I wouldn't count on it," he said. "He seems pretty stable."
Damien debated his options. The android obviously wasn't indestructible, but it was damn good at whatever it did. He turned to Nightshade.
"I hope you have a plan," he said.

Koda felt her frustration starting to spike as he was so quick to take her bow for being something flimsy, or as if she were dumb enough to assume her bow would do any good, um no honey she was going to use an arrow or two, uh hello. She frowned her words out before she could really think them through. "No of course I don't have a plan I just jumped in the middle of this circus with no idea what the hell I was doing" she said sarcasm caking her words, as she let those sink in.
Her fingers pulled out the arrow in particular that she'd been thinking off, instead of the purple covering, this one was a light silver, with purple feathers, the sort of feather-like on the end of it to cut through the wind and keep it from catching much resistance. She looked at the arrow studying it for a moment, they had to time kill at the moment, it would take that thing at the very least another few minutes to actually make it to the top. "Yes I have a plan Damien" she said examining her bow just one more time, before she handed him the arrow carefully between the top arrow part and the feathers. "Hold that and don't touch the top of it unless you want to be a frozen Popsicle, if you do I can make the arrangements" she told him this time looking at him as she spoke a small smirk traveling along her shinny, pink, lip-glossed lips.
Her fingers ran over the bow in her hands before she took it in both hands at the center the string facing away from her out toward the edge of the building she slammed the end of it on the ground with enough force you might assume it would break. Instead of breathing the two top parts that curled moved, one stayed where it was while the other twisted to be facing toward her. As that happened she lifted the weapon and watched as it omitted a faint lavender glow where her hands were. At each end of the bow came out a blade a relatively flat headed but it wasn't to fool you, either side and the head were very sharp and she kept them that way.
"With that arrow you're holding we might be able to hinder him enough it'd be cake to just knock him off the edge, if he can get his hands he'll have no way to grab hold to save himself" she said looking at him wondering if he was in fact up for this or not. "Think you can handle it Muscles?" she asked him teasingly, her lips pulling back into a flirtatious little smile as she ran her free hand down his bare arm before plucking her arrow from his fingers. She stood close to him, usually she dealt with bank robbers and the occasion serial murder, never anything like an android at least not without her team. Yet here she stood far too close to the new Super hottie on the block who had no real experience working with a partner. She hoped this wasn't a recipe for disaster; a hot, steamy, explosive one at that.

Damien cocked his eyebrow. He was beginning to like this girl more and more. She was dangerous though, no doubt about it. But he liked danger. He'd lived his entire life throwing himself into danger. A little more wouldn't hurt, or rather it would hurt, but at least it'd be fun.
"So what you're saying is," he said moving closer to her until they were only a few centimeters apart. "You're going to shoot him with that arrow that's going to freeze his hands, while I knock him off the building? I like that plan. But if we're going to do it we'd better do it fast, because he's right over there."
As he spoke the android began crawling over the lip of the building. Despite the fact it had no face, Damien liked to think it looked a little annoyed at the fact its arm had been broken. It definitely wasn't any happier.
"So you shoot I punch?" he said breaking away from Nightshade and getting in position to fight. He really did love earth.

As she felt him draw closer to her as he spoke she felt her heart rate spike, that wasn't the sort of reaction she'd needed her body to do, not at a time like this. She needed to focus on the andriod coming up the side of the building not the hottie that was just a few centimeters away. "We'll both fight, but you'll get the chance to knock him off" she said to him, shifting her weight as she pulled the strap of her arrows off over her head and laying them carefully on the ground beside her boots.
Elizabeth pressed the toe of her boot into the other heel as she used each foot to help the other out of her shoes. She wouldn't be able to make this robot heisitate solely on her looks, and her boots would kill her feet if she did half the things she'd need too. This left her in some pink socks with white pok-a-dots on them. "No, I just need to get close enough to bring this with enough force on his hand, then the other one....shooting in these close quarters won't do me any good" she said holding the arrow at it's stem a little tighter now as she saw the android start to crawl over the building.
She didn't wait, didn't hesitate as she ran for the android if she could just beat him before he could get his other hand up here, she might have a chance. "Cover me" she called to him, not looking to see if he was following her lead or not. She twisted her body as she lept into the air digging one end of her blades into the exposed wires on his arm, using this point as the leverage she'd need as she threw her weight down toward his hand where it was starting to rise of the ground. She threw her hand, using her upper body strength to try and time this right where the head of the arrow would contact with his metal limb with enough force to activate the liquid nitrogen and other ions that were housed in the chamber on the arrow.

Damien barely had enough time to register that Nightshade was wearing pink socks before she dashed forward to meet their assailant. Damien was one step behind. Just as she smashed the arrow into the creatures hand he leapt forward and blocked its other arm, which was already trying to hit her with a second shot. Kicking out at an inhuman speed Damien's foot collided with the robots rapidly freezing hand, watching it shatter with a satisfying crack.
Unable to support itself, the android tilted backwards and fell off the building, arms waving as it went. it hit the pavement with a sickening crack causing a large cloud of dust to erupt from the street below. That left Damien and Nightshade standing at the edge of the building.
"Think that got him?" Damien asked, peering down at the wreckage below. 'we'd better go down and check." He said not bothering to relax. This thing had taken his best punches like it was nothing. Anything that could do that struck him as being very dangerous indeed.
"By the way," he continued with a grin. "Nice socks." He was at this point absolutely sincere.

Nightshade rotated on her feet, far more graceful then some of the other heroians she'd run into in the past. She watched as Damien moved to kick the androids frozen hand and heard the statsying crack and watched with calm gaze as the pieces of metal flew everywhere, mostly catching sight of the little silver screws and other pieces. She'd been able to keep up with his movements easily enough so it was a sign she was getting better at the very least.
Koda felt the rise and fall of her chest as her body tensed still not yet ready to relax as the aderinaline coursed hot through her veins. She leaned slightly back on her heels, her arm moved to wipe the sweat from her brow. She moved forward looking down at the android trying to get a look through the smoke. "Oh shut up" she grumbled with a small laugh as she went to elbow him in the arm for his comment about her socks. She turned around going back to her shoes, she slipped them on, carefully moving to the fire escape intent on getting down that way, it was less conspicuous then taking the elevator in the building.
She picked her way down carefully still in a bit of a rush from this first real fight without her team, it had been exhilerating and she wasn't sure how to handle it. She knew she'd crash when she started to come down from the endorphines that had been released into her body. "I hope he's dead...if not well we'll just have to keep trying or we can call for back up" she said as she made her way through the motions of going down each ladder that she had too before she hit the dark alley surround them as she hit the ground with a mostly silent thud as she looked at him as he came down next to her. "You don't seem to be too bad working with a partner" she commented to him a small smile spreading across his lips.

Damien smiled as they reached the alleyway. They had defeated the thing, he was sure of it. But he was too experienced a warrior to be lulled into a false sense of security at this time. They approached the crater cautiously, it wouldn't be unusual for it to be playing dead. He leaned over the lip of the imprint the android had left and saw...nothing. It had vanished, down to the last screw. At first he tensed, certain that the thing was right behind them waiting for the right moment to strike. But there was nothing, surely now was the perfect time for an ambush. But there was nothing.
"It's gone," he said. He frowned his good mood evaporated. He suddenly became aware that he was in quite a bit of pain. He turned to Nightshade. "Well this was unexpected," he said.

Nightshade slowly let her muscles relax as she hung her bow around her shoulder. Her eyes searched the streets looking for any sign of him. She frowned seeing nothing at all. No one was still around heck not even the cops had shown up, probably deciding this was best left a Leguage matter, in some cases it was, less casualities that way.
Flames warmed a long her back and shoulders the flames not seen but felt under her skin, along her tense muscles. Her stance showed her wearyness at the situation, at the hand they'd been dealt. She let her gaze fall to young man she'd faught with today. Her eyes trailing over his body taking note of his wounds, must which had stopped bleeding but could probably do with some proxcide and maybe a bandange or two just in case. He'd probably do well with a nice hot bath to relax his aching muscles. He taken a number of hits today all of which couldn't of been very pleasant.
Her fingers pulled at the elastic band that held up her hair and she left her fingers slide through the strands letting them fall back across her back. "You gonna survive?" she asked her fingers reaching up to remove the piece of equipment from between her eyes it helped awaken her fire powers to help with her secret identity and well keeping it just that, a secret. "You took quite the beating" she said, her fingers brushing against his arm, as she looked at him, her eye color fading from the bright lavander color to a pale blue-ish grey. Her fingers rubbed at her eyes as she blinked getting them back into focus once she'd removed the part of her facial mask. Perhaps now he might have some idea of just who she was, if he wasn't drunk enough to have forgotten their little run in Rovertown, New York.

Damien watched Nightshade as she removed her mask. He'd seen her before, no doubt about it but he couldn't remember where.
"I know you," he said with a smile. It had been one heck of a day, he didn't get to see anything, and he still wanted to visit Gotham city at least once before he returned home. "I think I'm alright, it'll take much more than a few hits from some robot to put a dent in me. Yourself?"
His mind stretched back to all the things he'd seen and done, he was sure he'd remember seeing a girl like this. But faces were never his specialty.
"I think we have some time to talk before the cops come," he said. "so is this your city?"
He wasn't overtly worried about being arrested, but he did find this girl interesting.

Koda slowly tugged at her hair before let her gaze move back to him. She sighed softly and leaned over letting her hair fall in front of her as she started to put it up again. As she listened to him talk purple ponytail holder between her teeth did she grin slightly. She didn't speak till her hair was safely up again. Between her fingers moved the small piece of advanced science between her index finger and thumb, as if debating what to do with it.
She grinned slowly at the notion that he knew her, so it would appear he remembered a little bit, this was going to be fun. "No Jump city isn't mine, Gotham is. I'm just here on business" she said seeing no harm in admitting where she was from, he would't make it passed her doorway if she didn't want him too. Her Doberman's were a nice touch.
As she turned to him, she decided to mess with him a little bit. "So you can't recall where you know me from, such a shame Mucles" she said with a teasing little grin. "So why don't you tell me where your from, it's only fair" her words had a somewhat flirtatious edge to them. Her eyes went back to surveying the area before those baby blues were back to staring at him.

Damien shrugged.
"Fair enough," he said. It wasn't much of a secret. "I'm from a place called Asgard, it's sort of a giant floating city in the clouds. You've probably seen loads of places like it."
He resisted the urge to give her a wink. He was of course being perfectly serious, but it did seem a bit ridiculous when he said it out loud.
"Of course I'm a bit in between residencies at the moment," he continued. "I've spent a lot of time in...another dimension. But that's a pretty weird story."
He gazed at her.
"You obviously know me from somewhere," he said thoughtfully. "Did we ever fight a giant serpent together?"
That one he was joking about. He'd never fought a giant serpent before in his life. At least not yet.
